Vibraderm : Microdermabrasion

What is a Vibraderm Treatment?

This patented cosmetic device gently and comfortable exfoliates the epidermis while stimulating collagen growth. Unlike conventional dermabrasion treatments, Vibraderm does not use small crystals to “sand-blast” the skin or a diamond tip to scrape the skin. Instead, a vibrating stainless steel paddle is used to treat the face, neck and upper chest in just ten minutes.

What can Vibraderm help with?

  • Fine line and wrinkles
  • Pores
  • Ketosis Pilares (those little raised bumps that are on the back of the arm)
  • Sun damaged skin
  • Melasma (Brown spots due to hormonal changes)
  • Scars
  • Enhance penetration of medication

Is there any downtime for this procedure?

No, you can get this procedure done and then have lunch with friends without them knowing you any treatment done. Your skin will just look smoother and healthier.

How often do I need to do the treatments?

This really depends on what you are trying to correct with this treatment. This will be determined by the physician during your free no obligation consultation. Procedure for the face typically takes about 10 – 15 minutes, every 2 - 4 weeks. Treatment typically average 4-6 times. Some patients however do come in every month just to exfoliate and maintain their healthy skin.

How is Vibraderm different from microdermabrasion with crystals or diamond tip peels?

Microdermabrasion machines have several drawbacks:

  • a small spot size, which can lead to uneven and slow treatments
  • The aluminum oxide crystals also become aerosolized and form a residue that remains on the skin after treatment.
  • post-treatment erythema (skin redness)
  • Studies have shown that 75% felt they had improvement in the tone and texture of their skin on the Vibraderm treated side compared to only 55% of patients who observed improvement on the microdermabrasion side
  • 85% of patients preferred the Vibraderm system over the microdermabrasion system.
  • The skin seems smoother and more vibrant than standard microdermabrasion.
  • Crystal microdermabrasion is messy and can make the skin feel gritty because it is often very difficult to clean of all the crystal from the face
  •  the eyelids is an area that must be treated with great caution when performing crystal microdermabrasion
  • Crystals get stuck in the pores and skin which make it very difficult to thoroughly clean all of the particles off the skin.
Vibraderm is soothing and massages the face, which crystal microdermabrasion and diamond microdermabrasion can be very painful and uncomfortable.
